Adult Hockey Skills
Every Tuesday from 10:00 PM - 11:45 PM at Oceanside Ice Arena
Runs year-round, jump in anytime and be ready to rock
Cost is $20 per session or purchase 10-session punch card for $150
Goalies are FREE!
Arrive early- Class is limited to the first 40 players and 6 goalies. No reservations or call-ins allowed.
Program Objectives:
- Improve the skills of novice and intermediate players
- Challenge and encourage each player with a positive, dynamic session each week
- Provide a fun and structured environment for enjoying the great sport of hockey
Session Format:
- Warmup - 10 min
- Powerskating - 10 min
- Stickhandling - 10 min
- Passing - 10 min
- Shooting - 10 min
- Small area games/ Cross-ice 3 on 3 - 20 min
- Scrimmage - 30 min
- Goalies receive specialized instruction from a goalie coach at each session
- 1 hour, 45 min of total ice time!
Other:
- Red Light District Hockey Store is open late on Tuesdays until 10:00 pm so come on in and get your skates sharpened
- Class is co-ed - a bunch of women attend each week
- Head instructor - Scott Ferris
- Assistant instructors - Garrett Lachvayder, Liam Djupstrom
- Goalie coach - Trevor Wilson
Must be USA Hockey registered to participate. USA Hockey and Arizona Amateur Hockey Association (USA Hockey sub-affiliate) provide catastrophic insurance coverage and other support to adult hockey programs at Oceanside Ice Arena.
